Montana Archery Elk Draw Odds — HD 595-21

If you want a legitimate shot at trophy-class bulls during Montana’s September archery season without waiting 10 years to draw, the 595-21 is one of the best plays in the state.

This limited-entry permit is issued through Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks and has historically carried 85–100% first-choice draw success thanks to a strong tag quota.

How It Works

Step 1

Nonresidents draw a General Elk Combination License using Montana’s Preference Point System (up to 3 points, including the Outfitter Preference Point).

Step 2

Apply for 595-21 using Bonus Points (squared in the draw to increase your odds)

Because of the tag numbers in this district, many hunters are able to draw without long point histories, making it an accessible option with a realistic draw timeline. We like it for its trophy-class bull potential, exciting September rut action, and manageable hunting pressure that creates a high-quality overall experience.

At Sylvester and Sons, we build the plan, guide the application process, and give you straight answers about your odds. If you’re serious about chasing big bulls in archery season, 595-21 is a smart, attainable opportunity and we’ll help you get there! These hunts provide high end lodging and accommodation for guests in the heart of the ranch. Click here for more info
